Computer Science Education Week is an annual effort dedicated to inspire K-12 students to take an interest in computer science. Launched in December of 2009, coinciding with the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Hopper, it primarily focused on policy issues. In 2013, Code.org introduced The Hour of Code which expanded CSEdWeek to reach tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Visit csedweek.org for more information!

Hello Everyone, as we are quickly approaching the holiday season. I want to share out the UCS PS52Q SEL Educational Monthly November 2025, which is centered around the concept of gratitude. I want say to you all that I am grateful for getting the opportunity four years ago to become apart of the PS52Q community. Lastly, have a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate!!!

The week of December 8th is Computer Science (CS) Education Week. Students can paint and take home a Robot Piggy Bank for $5 as part of our school fundraising. If you would like your child to participate, please return the form and money by December 5th.

NYC Public Schools are closed for Thursday, November 27th and Friday November 28th for Thanksgiving. Schools reopen Monday, December 1st.

We wish all of our families a Happy Thanksgiving!

Parents & Guardians are invited to our Fulfilling Wednesday Assembly on Wednesday, November 26th at 1:45pm. There will be two $75 Grocery Gift Card Raffles!

Our Annual Day of Giving with our Fall Feast for Students will take place on November 21, 2025. Please return all permission slips by November 19, 2025.

Did you know? According to a 2023 study, 85% of waste generated in our schools can be composted or recycled!

Here are two ways we can reduce waste in our schools:

Prevent waste in the first place! Only use what you need and find ways to reuse materials.
Properly sort items for recycling and composting. Our schools now have Curbside Composting service!
By sending less material to landfills, we can effectively reduce pollution.
